Studenţi din comitatul Făgăraş la Facultatea de Teologie a Universităţii din Cernăuţi (1875-1918)

  • Subiect: Students from Făgăraş County at the Theological Faculty of the University of Cernăuţi (1875-1918) The Romanian community from Făgăraş county gave between 1875-1918 five students at the Theological Faculty in Cernăuţi. Although they came from modest families, these young persons understood that studying in a university is the only form of social and professional ascension. They become remarkable personalities of Romanian Orthodoxy from the interwar period, especially if we refer to Ilie Beleuţă and Ioan Dobre. Both dedicated their entire activity to the Romanian Orthodox Church and to the Romanian school. Ilie Beleuţă was one of the most distinguished theology professors of the interwar period, who taught at the Theological Academy in Sibiu. Ioan Dobre was archpriest of Deva. The life and the activity of the other three students is less known. Gheorghe Enescu was parish priest in Moieciu de Jos. Gheorghe Guiman did not follow the priesthood career and worked in the public administration. Ioan Mardan was teacher in Turda at the King Ferdinand High School.
