Culisele tragediei scufundării cuirasatului britanic HMS Barham – 25 noiembrie 1941

  • Subiect: The backstage of the tragedy are sinking british battleship HMS Barham -november 25, 1941 HMS Barham is the only British battleship sunk by the U-boat during the Second World War. In 25 november 1941, The German submarine U-331 launched three torpedoes into her side wich forced HMS Barham to roll over to portside before a magazine store detonated. The battleship heels over and explodes. Huge palls of smoke rising from the stricken ship. HMS Barham sunk in short order. Several hours after the sinking, The British Admiralty realized that Germans had not learned the sinking of the ship, and seized the oportunity the generate false intelligence. Kriegsmarine (German Navy War) did not realize the loss of HMS Barham and the British Admiralty finally made the official announcement of the battleship loss on 27 January 1942.
