O capodoperă a artei culinare princiare în cetatea de la Făgăraş

  • Subiect: A masterpiece of the culinary art from the principality court in Făgăraş fortress The cookbook of Princess Anna Bornemisza, is considered one of the masterpieces of culinary art in Transylvania of the seventeenth century. Its history is closely related to that of Făgăraş Fortress, because on 1680, Keszei János began to write this book here in the fortress. Includes 1646 recipes, but interesting is that none of them has the amount of ingredients mentioned.The cover bears the initials ABDGPT, that is Anna Bornemisza Dei Gratia Princess Transilvaniae, and down the year 1680, when it was written. The value of the book is also increased by the two signatures that appear inside the cover. The one of the princess and with the following text written by her own hand:„I wrote here, on September 3, 1680 it was completed” and „This book shows us, that the first time we seek food for the soul and only afterwards does God also give us his body” and that of Prince M. Apafi I, the princess's husband.
