- Subiect: Methodological aspects of commerce through the prism of historical and Economic approaches: notions, concepts, stereotypes and controversies Commerce has played and continues to play an important role in the development of civilization. The methodological aspects of commerce have been at the center of the concerns of specialists in various fields. Historians have highlighted the role of merchants, the trade routes through which domestic and foreign trade took place. Economists have nuanced the role of commerce in the socio-economic development of humanity, conceptualizing the main doctrines in the field. The studies of economists are further marked mainly by Marxist postulates byinvoking the model of division of labor, the concept of feudal and capitalist mode of production. The methodological aspects of commerce are marked both by their conceptual diversity and by multiple theoretical controversies. The lack of thorough studies, based on the interdisciplinarity between history and economics, has left its mark on how to approach controversial issues that are further analyzed unilaterally from purely historical or purely economic positions. An exception in this sense is the studies of B. Murgescu which substantiates a new orientation in Romanian historiography, based on an original methodology of the economic history of the Romanian Lands.
