  • Subiect: Contributions to the history of Fagaras County. The migrations of people from Vad to America An important phenomenon taking place in the late 19th century and at the beginning of the next century was the migration of the Romanians from Făgăraş County to the United States of America. There were several reasons that caused this phenomenon. Most of the people of Vad went to USA through ports like Bremen, Fiume and Hamburg. In general, they went to their relatives or acquaintances in America and the most important community of people of Vad was in New Philadelphia. After the First World War, most of them returned home with their earnings and tried to change their lives.
