  • Subiect: The role of anabaptists in the development of transylvanian faience The first concerns for tile manufacturing in Transylvania belonged to the Anabaptist potters who spread the so-called „Habana faience”. They were colonized during Prince Gabriel Bethlen’s reign on the domain of his wife Suzana Karolyi, in Vintu de Jos (1621), having an important role in the evolution of ceramics in Transylvania.The Habanas were recognized due to the outstanding quality of their product, to the ornamental elements and the special color palette and the uniqueness of the products.
