Un fragment din istoria Hîrşovei redat prin prisma mărturiilor documentare

  • Subiect: „The two authors try to present an economical, political, social and military history of the fortress from Hârşova in the medieval age and alsa in the start of the modern epoch. The Roman archaelogical centre, the Romano-Byzantine and medieval one from Carsium-Hârşova represents one of the points of maximum interest on the hystorical map of Dobrogea capitalized by the Danubian material civilization. For the Roman epoch and the Romano-Byzantine one there are historical sources that can provide rich information, umphasizing the roll played in different politica! events and mostly military ones. Untill the medieval epoch the fortress entered in the reconstruction program of the fortress from the Roman age of Ioan Tzymiskes in a general context of mentaining the Danubian region under observation and influence. In the medievalage, in the same time with the conquest of Dobrogea by the Moslams, their interest for this territory grew very much representing "the head of the bridge" necessary for the future military campaings in the Esternand Central Europe. The XVJth century brought important transformations in the evolution of the comercial and economica! centre, situa tion that will be mentained alsa in the XVnth century. The XVIIIth century at Hârşova was less profitable, the zone being included in the Russian-Turkish military campaignes, becoming the space of military operations with an obvious diminution of the economica!, politica! and social life. Acord ing to the precautions of the Adrianopol Treaty from the 2/14 of september 1829 the fortress from Hârşova was blown up. În spite of this moment from 1829, the fortress and the zone proved along the time, in the antique epoch and alsa in the medieval one, its unquestionable roll and importance.”
