Generalul Nicolae Dăscălescu în viziunea contemporanilor săi

  • Subiect: Nicolae Dăscălescu was born on June 16th, 1884, in Căciuleşti, Neamţ County. After graduating from the School of Artillery and Engineer Corps in 1908, he was allocated to the 8th Artillery Regiment in Roman. It is with the 3rd Battery of this Regiment that he participated in the Balcanic War of 1913 and the first part of the First World War. The second part of the First World War he was a Battalion Commander, in the 4th Artillery Regiment in Bacău. During the interwar period he occupied several positions: Staff Deputy-Chief of the 14th Infantry Division, same position in the 5th Army Corps, Chief of Staff at the Commandment of the Airborne Troops. In 1932 he was the Commander of the 1st Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment. After this he was appointed Chief of Staff of the 3rd Army Corps, based in Chisinau, Commander of the 12th Artillery Brigade, based in Ismail. For a brief period of time, he also was the Secretary General of the National Defense Department. During the Second World War he was the Comrnandcr or thc 20th Infantry Division then of the 21st Infantry Division, Commander or the 2nd Army Corps and, in the end, Commander of the Romanian 4th Army.
