  • Subiect: About an Old Historiographic Dispute and its Implications in The Argeş County The present paper discusses the various viewpoints about the exact place where the walled city Helis was situated. The early historical sources present this walled city as the residence of the basileu Dromichaites, the hero of the battle versus Lysimach, the king of Thracia in the first years of the 3rd century BC. The location of this walled city by the today historians and archaeologists is tributary to the conceptions of the national history-archaeological schools. The main stake is the territorial location of the political group led by Dromichaites. Among the supposed location was also the Argeş area. This idea is based upon a passage from the work of Polybios where Dromichaites is presented as „the king of the odyssey/ordesses”.
