Obiceiuri şi practici ale crescătorilor de animale de pe cursul mijlociu al Crasnei

  • Subiect: Customs and Practices of the Animal Breeding peasants from the Villages on the Middle Flow of the Crasna River The middle part of the Crasna Valley, a zone between the hills and the plain, offers good conditions both for the agriculture and animal breeding, especially cattle. The cattle draw the plough and provided meat and milk, there was also a small number of sheep and horses. But practically every family raised one or two pigs and a lot of poultry. The type of grazing, both in the past and in the present days, is the local grazing on the pastures around the village. The importance of the cows in the peasant husbandry is attested by the fact that they take good care of them and, in the past, by the many magic practices supposed to be able to increase the number of rows and their milk production.
