Subiect: Significant personality of Romanian scientific and political life from the turn of the 20th centwy, Spiro Haret distinguished himse(f by introducing modern elements in education and cooperation. His connections with the Gorj county ran deep, materialising in supporting local initiatives from the two fields. Important localfigures benefited from his high protection, such as Alexandro Ştefuleseu, Vitold Rolla Piekarski, Iuliu Moisil, Dincă Schileru and many others. In return, he also embraced valuable ideas from them and applied them in legislative projects for the Parliament of his time. The illustrous reforming Minister's prodigious activity has not been forgotten by the people of the Gorj county after his premature passing.
