Colecţia de artă contemporană românească „Bucur şi Marieta Chiriac”

  • Subiect: This valuable collection is important because it valorises, with the means of the contemporary art, a genuine treasure of ideas, sentiments and intuitions about the world of the talented Romanian people. The collection Bucur and Marieta Chiriac represents one of the most important donations made to the Romanian state after the 1989 Revolution, and the largest art donation made to Buzău municipality so far. The academic posture and artistic rigour is remarkable in each work, regardless of the technique employed. Rebuilding the composition of the folk ornament, projected in a tri-dimensional space, Ion Irimescu, a great sculptor present in our exhibition, creates a modern style, just like the renowned artist, Cela Neamţu succeeds in the unique tapestry in the exhibition, entitled Tize Friends, to decipher in her chromatic language, the spirituality of the traditional rug or the beautiful folk motifs.
