  • Subiect: A Contemporaneous Nothing about Prince Michael the Brave The paper deals with a handwritten note on a volume belonging to the library of the teaching staff in Zalău. The volume consists in fact of two books by Joannes Calvinus, printed respectively in 1576 and. 1583, and bound together in 1583. The noting refers to events that happened in September 1600 in Southeastern Transylvania, as the troops of Michlael the Brave were called back from Moldavia in order to strengthen the Transylvanian army of the prince. The authors outline the general historical background of the events and make some considerations about the military leaders mentioned in the noting and about the anonymous writer of the noting, who was probably a senior clerk.
