Education in the Roman ian Village from the Buzau Plain in the Time of the Communist Regime

  • TITLU în română: Învăţământul în satul românesc din Câmpia Buzăului în timpul regimului comunist
  • Subiect: The issue of this article concerns education in the villages of Buzau Plain, from Soviet to the end of the communist regime, part of a larger study of the Romanian village under communist experiment. Entitled "Education in the Romanian Village in the Buzau Plain during the Communist Regime", the article is structured in three parts: the premises of the communist experiment- Sovietization of rural education and the collectivization of villages in the Buzau Plain (1948-1962); the school from the villages of Buzau Plain from Sovietisation to a retum to the traditions of the Romanian education (1962-1978); the retum to socialist realism- cultural revolution and excessive ideology in the rural schools of the Buzau plain (1978-1989). The school network analyzed within this research includes educational units within the three rural communes of Buzau, Pogoanele. Padina, and Smeeni, where the first schools functioned in the nineteenth century. The Communist experiment on the Romanian education from 1962-1989, having as its starting point the Sovietization of the years 1948-1962, has so far reverberated to the state of the educational system and the Romanian society. The study of the archives of the rural schools in the Buzau plain reveals the extent of the cultural offensive of the communist regime, directed against the traditional Romanian village, aimed at transforming the school into a propaganda and ideology vector in the Romanian society.
