Text and lmage Link Starting from the similarities between two portals of Bucharestan churches – the „Doamnei" church (1683) and the „St. Apostles" church (built by Matei Basarab, between 1647-1648, and with the stone-carved portal added by Ştefan Cantacuzino, in 1715), the article deals with the origins and significations of the image-text combination in the commemorative inscriptions integrated in the portals, during the XVIIth century.
