  • Subiect: During the 19th and early 20th centuries, Bucharest has become the permanent Capital of all Romanians, acquiring an increased importance, facing increased demands, generated by the population growth, by the territorial extension and by the needs to modernize the country. As a capital of Wallachia, Bucharest had already concentrated an important sample of Romanian history, culture, traditions. The author presents the gradual establishment of the Capital of Wallachia in Bucharest, after having shared this function with various other Romanian towns.
