De la „Imperium Romanorum” la „Basileia bizantină”. Etape importante în evoluţia procesului de grecizare a Imperiului Roman de Răsărit (secolele IV-VII d.Hr.)

  • Subiect: From Imperium Romanorum to Byzantine Basileia Important Stages of the Evolution of the Graecisation of the Eastern Roman Empire (the 4th - 7th Centuries A.D.) The civilisation of Solon and Aeschylus and Aristophanes, a civilisation which was already on the wane, vanished after the dea of Alexander (323). Thus a new age begins. It is known as the Hellenistic Age. As a consequence of the Alexander’s conquests the Greek became the official language of the half of the Oriental World. From the 7th century the Greek became the official language of the Byzantine state. It was used both in administration and church. Thus the Roman Empire whose main feature was the Latinity ended by being completely Hellenized.
