O nouă descoperire paleocreştină la Porolissum

  • Subiect: A Paleo-Christian Find at Porolissum The paper deals with a newly discovered early Christian item. It is a Christianized vessel (plate) on the bottom of which the monogram of Christ, the early Christian symbol, was picked up after its production. The authors consider that the item belongs to the first half of the 4th century. The discovery completes the catalogue of the Christian autochthonous discoveries in the Roman town Porolissum, alongside with the early Christian basilica (end of the 3rc1-4th century AD), the bronze coins dating from the 4th century, the gnostic gemstones (end of the 3rd century), the vessel with christian symbols and Latin inscription (4th century), the Christian graves (4th century) Christian bronze lamps (4th century), studs (belt attachment) and brooches (fibulae) (4-5th centuries), the lead cross (5th century), the flask with the image of Minas the Saint (6-th century). These finds constitute indisputable proofs for the permanence of the Daco-Roman population in the town after the withdrawal of the Roman army from Dacia.
