  • Subiect: At the end of 2010, the heritage of the open air museum from Dumbrava Sibiului was composed of: 20 specialized constructions with an occupational profile from the main activities of the traditional civilization (fishery, shepherds' huts, sheepfolds and sheep stables, fruit and wine cellars, gold mine shaft); 39 homesteads out of which 3 with shepherding profile, 2 with agriculture and shepherding profile and 34 with crafts profile; 2 crafts workshops without homestead; 67 traditional idustry installations; and 3 monuments in the sector of traditional transportation. The most representative collection and, at the same time, the most complete in the country is the one of traditional industry installations which is composed of 36 food industry installations, 6 timber industry, 1 mine industry, 1 metallurgical industry, 19 textile industry out of which 4 are genuine complexes of traditional industries. Two pavillions specialized on themes (one in which are exhibited all the types of fruit crushers and presses known in Romania; in the second one, inaugurated in 2007, are presented rolling means of transportation) give once again to the Open Air Museum from Dumbrava Sibiului an absolute uniqueness among all the profile museums in Romania. During the fast years a series of important monuments have been rebuilt and they complete the thematic sectors of the museum: homestead-workshop for processing stone from Cupşeni, Maramureş County, marble miner's homestead from Alun, Hunedoara County, homestead of a gold ore miner from Coma, Alba County, homestead of a salt miner from Sărăteni, Mureş County, homestead of a fruiter from Bălăneşti, Gorj County, homestead with sawmill from Gura Râului, Sibiu County, complex of water-driven industries from Rebrişoara, Bistrita-Năsăud County, urban house (for making ornamental cords) from Şcheii Braşovului, Braşov County.
