Cronicarul Tatrosy György 1645

  • Subiect: THE CHRONICLER TATROSY GYORGY. 1645 In the Brukenthal Library in Sibiu, in the collection of old books from the 16lh century there is a chronicle Chronica az Viltignac Yeles dolgairol (The Chronicle of Important Events in the World), printed in Cracovia in 1559, its author being the Transylvanian preacher Szekely Istvan. It is a chronicle „of the world", CHRONOLOGICON, showing the events that took place in the world from its beginning till 1558. Inspiring himself from this chronicle, its owner from the 17lh century continued reporting the events beginning in 1560 till 1645. This was done on some sheets of paper attached at the end of the book. Some other notes in handwriting, 10 pages attached in front of the Chronicle by Szekely, describes the life of Tatrosy Gyorgy, being a real saga, a family chronicle and also describing some Transylvanian towns, burgs, like Braşov, Sibiu, Cluj, as well as giving a general image about the Transylvanian society in the 17th century.
