Conservarea preventivă: O prioritate la nivel internaţional, o prioritate a CePCoR-Centrul de Pregătire a Conservatorilor şi Restauratorilor

  • Subiect: The paper presents two significant preventive conservation events organized by CePCoR (the Training Center of Conservators and Restorers) in 2007, year when Sibiu was Cultural Capital of Europe: the international ICCROM course „Reducing Risks to Collection" and the international conference „Directions in Preventive Conservation". A brief presentation of the international activity in the field of preventive conservation aims to underline the high priority of the events' topic. The volume "Directions in Preventive Conservation - selected articles from the international conservation literature" (all translated into Romanian), issued with funds from the Cultural Capital, was the third significant achievement of CePCoR in this field. The organizers hope that all efforts above will contribute to the development in the near future of a national preventive conservation strategy, together with the allocation of necessary funds for its' implementation, the only possible way to properly preserve our cultural heritage for future generations.
