Rolul familiei Creţulescu în revoluţia de la 1848 din Ţara Românească

  • Subiect: The Role of Creţulescu Family in the 1848 Revolution in Wallachia The Creţulescu family, which has its roots in the I6th century had four representatives who were involved in the 1848 revolution. Constantin Creţulescu participated in the revolutionary government as President of the administrative council. On June 28th, along with I. C. Brătianu he succeeded in mobilizing the citizens in Bucharest to thrust a military plot. Nicolae Creţulescu was nominated inspector of Wallachia and was subsequently arrested by Ottoman troops. Scarlat Creţiulescu was, for a time, the commander of the national guard and was responsible for its organization. Dimitrie Creţulescu had no position in the revolutionary government; but was the author at an assassination attempt against the ruler Gheorghe Bibescu.
