  • Subiect: Maria Pillat Brateş is part of a family which included three generations of artists writers: - Ion Pillat - her husband - writer - Dinu Pillat - her son - writer imprisoned in communist prisons - Cornelia Pillat - his wife - writer - Monica Pillat - niece - writer Maria Pillat Brateş is a descendant of an old family from Bucharest - the family of the Ion Dumitrescu Procopius lawyer. Maria Pillat was devoted to watercolour, performing at the highest level in Romania but over the edge country till America. At the same time with the settin up of the communist regime, Maria Pillat Brates was private by freedom, her houses and estates was nationalized and she couldn’t participate to the personal and group exhibitions from Bucharest. In her old age, Maria Pillat Brates endured privations and disease, safeguarded by her son.
