Reşedinţe ("scaune") domneşti ale voievozilor Pătraşcu Vodă şi Mihai Viteazul descoperite în vechiul oraş medieval Gherghiţa, jud. Prahova

  • Subiect: Princely Courts („Scaune”) of The Voivodes Pătraşcu Vodă and Mihai Viteazul Discovered in the Old Medieval Town Gherghiţa, Prahova County The medieval town Gherghiţa, Prahova County, was firstly mentioned in historical springs on the 20th of January 1431. It is considered today as one of the most important towns of Wallachia in the 15th – the 16th centuries, due to the almost permanent presence here of the voivode Mihai Viteazul and his council, in order to solve the civil and penal trials of the communities from the constituency. After the events from the end of the 16th century and the beginning of the 17th century the princely court of Mihai Viteazul is demolished. What has left after the demolition was put in the foundation ditch and preserved till today.
