  • Subiect: The investment of Dr. Demetriu Radu as leader of the Greek – Catholic Bishopric from Oradea and the first reactions of Romanians from Satu Mare (1903) Dr. Demtriu Radu was a leader of the Greek - Catholic Bishopric from Oradea in 1902- 1920, being an ardent defender of Romanian culture. To the Greek - Catholic Bishopric from Oradea were belonging, also, a part of the parishes from Satu Mare, since 1903 under direct jurisdiction of the bishop. Thus, his investment as supreme hierarch of this bishopric had a large response in Romanian world from Satu Mare. The voice of these Romanians was heard through teachers and priests, authors of congratulations letters for the new bishop. The letter sent by "The reunion of the Romanian teachers from Archideaconry of Satu Mare region" had a emotional significance, the teachers wanted an improvernent of the critical state of Romanian confessional education. Same meaningful essence was the letter addressed to the bishop by the priests from Satu Mare region, these ones expecting a bettering "in these hard times".
