Suporteri de prestigiu ai Sporting Club Piteşti: Armand Călinescu şi Gabriel Marinescu

  • Subiect: Prestigious Fans of Sporting Club Piteşti: Armand Călinescu and Gabriel Marinescu The “prodigal son” of Piteşti, i.e. the team Sporting Club had among its first fans Armand Călinescu, named in 1930 President of Honour of the Club, especially for the support he offered when he was the Prefect of the Argeş County. He is one of the politicians from Argeş in the period between the two World Wars, who supported the team. Another personality who supported the football from Piteşti was Gabriel Marinescu, President of Honour of the main team from Argeş, who, like Armand Călinescu, advertised this sport in Piteşti. Gavrilă (this was the way the friends called him) Marinescu (from 1936 president of the club ASC Venus Bucureşti, and from 1939 the president of FRFA) was among those who organized the match between Sporting Club and the Bulgarian team Lewski Rusciuk; the result: 2-1 for the team from Piteşti.
