Conservarea structurilor construcţiei de lemn descoperite în centrul bizantin de la Nufărul, Tulcea

  • Subiect: THE PRESERVATION OF THE WOODEN STRUCTURES DISCOVERED IN THE BYZANTINE CENTER OF NUFĂRU - TULCEA The work presents the stages of the preservation process for all the wooden pieces discovered in Nufăru (Tulcea County) in an archaeological site, dated back to the 10th century A.D. From a number of about 220 wooden pieces (living structures, household goods), were inserted in the preservation process a number of about 150 pieces, according to the following technological process: primary mechanical cleaning, treatment with ethyl alcohol and insecto fungicide, stabilization by immerging the wooden piece in PEG 1000 and PEG 4000 solution (various concentrations and invariable temperature of 60 degrees Celsius). Besides these, there were a series of special procedures, consisting of dry treatments with Paraloid.
