O scrisoare inedită din războiul pentru independenţă aflată în colecţiile Muzeului Judeţean Satu Mare

  • Subiect: This document is a letter sent by major Ştefan Mateescu, the commander of the 1st Battalion Dorobanţi to his godfather, the colonel Constantin Cruţescu, the commander of the 1st Regiment Infantry of line, on 3 December 1877 from the hospital of Turnu Măgurele. The document is important because help us to found more information about the events from 1877 as was the defeat suffered by Romanian army in 30 August 1877 in the first attack of Plevna. As well is mentioned the failed attack of Plevna and especially of the redoubt Griviţa from 6 September 1877 directed by the colonel Otton Sachelarie.
