Tipuri de degradări întâlnite la restaurarea covoarelor din colecţia Muzeului Judeţean Buzău

  • Subiect: Types of degradation met with the restoration of carpets from the Buzău County Museum collection The piece presents the types of degradation met with ten restored carpets belonging to the Museum's collection: physical - chemical degrade (discoloration, oxidation), physical - mechanical degrade (fraying, corrugation, deformation, crumpling, wet stains) and biological degrade (mould, rodent and insects attack). This work offers a detailed analysis of the biological degrade inflicted by moths and an up close view on how to prevent such outbursts in ethnographic collections.
