• Subiect: WHERE AND WHEN DID THE IMPERIALISTS DECIDE MIHAI VITEAZUL'S DEATH? While Mihai Viteazul secured the victory of Călugăreni against the Ottomans, victory that was resounding throughout the Europe, a Polish army led by the chancellor J. Zamoisky penetrated Moldavia, conquering it and replacing the voivode Ştefan Răzvan, by Ieremia Movilă, who declared himself faithful to the Polish Crown. Because of this, Moldavia was been excluded of the Christian League. In the summer of 1599, after Sigismund Bathory, the prince of Transylvania, withdrew from the throne and Andrei Bathory was elected for the throne of this country, Transylvania was excluded from the Christian League as a result of the new prince's declaration to be linked to the Polish Crown, and began negotiation with the High Court for his recognition as a vassal to the sultan. In the end, în the fall of 1599, both Ieremia Movilă, the voivode of Moldavia, and Andrei Bathory, the prince of Transylvania, conspired to overthrow Mihai Viteazul and replace him with Simion Movilă, Ieremia Movilă's brother. And thus Ţara Românească too would have been excluded from the Christian League.
