  • Subiect: The end of stone age and the beginning of Metals Age in the Argeş Zone ln this paper are synthetically presented the most important archaeological discoveries from 4th - middle of 3rd millenary BC in the Argeş county zone. The settlements of eneolitihic culture Gumelniţa B 1 are localized in the southeastern part of county, in the plane zone (Surduleşti, Teiu, Popeşti, Ziduri etc.), but in the hills zone are developed the cultural aspect Brăteşti (Valea Calului, Tigveni, Retevoieşti, Câmpulung). For the first time is signaled here the presence in Argeş zone of the culture Cernavodă lll, in south of the county, on the valley of little river Mozac. The archaeological complexes belonging of Coţofeni culture are only few (Retevoieşti, Mozăceni, Cotmeana,); the settlements of Glina culture is in abundance (the most important at Valea Calului, Şerbăneşti, Valea laşului), but the majority of them are known only from archaeological field surveys. From a recent phase of Glina culture may be attached the copper axe deposit (two Ranleistenbeile Glina type and one Schaftlochaxt Izvoarele type) discovered at Râncăciov. Finally, between the relatively numerous cemeteries dated in the beginnings of the bronze age, remarkable is the group of burials in the slabs stone box from the north-eastern part of the county (Cetăţeni, Apa Sărată-Câmpulung, Albeşti).
