Documente inedite despre un monument dedicat lui Mihai Viteazul pe Cîmpia Turzii

  • Subiect: Published Data about a Monument Dedicated to Prince Michael the Brave on the Câmpia Turzii The paper deals with a small water color painting from the Istvan Teglâs collection in Turda. It represents a monument with o roadside crucifix. According to the handwritten noting on the painting, the monument was built on the very spot where Michael the Brave was murdered. The painting was done probably in 1820. and the monument was destroyed by thunderbolt in 1830. The monument allows to know the precise place where Michael the Brave had his camp near Turda. Three other items from the same collection supposed to be connected with the prince Michael the Brave are discussed: a stone slab with inscription kept in the Brukenthal Museum in Sibiu), an oriental rug and a silver goblet. The author intends to put into the scientific circulation the information and not to solve all the problems raised by those data.
