Şcolile confesionale româneşti din Sălaj - în a doua jumătate a secolului al XIX-lea

  • Subiect: THE ROMANIAN CONFESSIONAL SCHOOLS FROM SĂLAJ IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE 19th CENTURY The confessional schools from Sălaj occurred as a result of the seek for cultural elevation and at the same time with the purpose of supporting the youth to enter the political and spiritual elite of the Silvania Country. The financial support came from the parishioners, fostered by the Office of Locum Tenens of Silvania and the Greek Catholic archpriests from the region. There was a pleiad of teachers in Sălaj who devoted themselves to the school and participated in the national movement, raising the level of teaching, convincing children from all social strata to join the confessional Greek Catholic schools. Throughout the second half of the 19th century, these schools went through a revival period, as a consequence of the work of religious personalities, occupying the locum tenens position in the church hierarchy, like Alexandru Şterca-Şuluţiu, Demetriu Coroianu, Alimpiu Barbuloviciu.
