Însemne cultural-literare transilvănene: manuscrise aflate în Biblioteca Astra

  • Subiect: Transylvanian Cultural and Literary Reference Points: Manuscripts to be Found in Astra Library The collection of manuscripts to be found in Astra Library, substantially enriched through the donation offered by Aurelia Vulcan (wife of Iosif Vulcan – editor in chief of the ”1familia” magazine from Oradea) in 1907, makes it possible for us to rediscover less known, but very important and interesting documents regarding literary creation in Transylvania. The writer Vasile Ranta Buticescu (born in 1841 in Mierta-Sălaj) sent for publication to the magazine in Oradea: the short story entitled „Leaves of Wormwood” and the manuscript, together w1th a few pieces of correspondence are to be found here. From the prose-writer Tit Chuitul (born in 1866, in Gherla) we own, via Iosif Vulcan as well, the manuscripts entided” The Star of the East” and” Dacia s Catastrophe” (historical novels).
