Aspecte de ideologie politică la Albina

  • Subiect: Ideological Aspects Dealt with in „Albina” Newspaper The paper „Albina" was published first in 1860 in Pesta and in 1860 in Vienna. From its publication this newspaper tried to defend the national cause of the Romanians, asserting itself as a journalistic parliament. After the setting up of the Austrian-Hungarian dualist state, the authors of the articles published in the „Albina" considered the problem of nationalities not only as a state matter but also as a cultural one. For a better understanding of this problem it was necessary to tackle some aspects of the existing situation in the empire created in February 1867. The reporters tried to elucidate several questions: 1. what is a national state? 2. what are the tasks of a national state? 3. are the elections the most important event in the life of a state? 4. what are the lawful claims springing from the essence of the national idea?; 5. are these claims equally natural with each nation?; 6. what are the ways and means of the Hungarian governments to subdue the national ideas of the peoples from the empire?; 7. how do the subdued peoples from the empire act to gain their national ideal?; 8. what is the part played by newspaper men and the press in general, in building up a national consciousness?; ll. do the vital interests of Romanian nationality differ from those of the Hungarian nationality? The political message of this newspaper contributed slowly but surely, to the training of the people for the great union (of all Romanian territories) from December 1, 1918.
