  • Subiect: Folk religiosity in Bucharest The authoress aims at partially defining the spiritual side of urban - Bucharestan - life. The "folk religiosity" syntagm comprises those elements that differ from the norms of the official religion: saints' cult and relics trade, processions, magic, folk medicine, woodoo and others. Numerous documents, dating from the XVIIIth-XIXth centuries mention different occult practices, wonders worked by icons, trade with magical inscripts and other „healing" techniques.
