Subiect: The 19th century was a time of profound changes for the whole European continent. In Romania, the 1848 revolution created the basis of the modern Romanian state. In the middle of these tempestuous events, the women from Golescu family permanently supported and encouraged their husbands, sons and brothers, during the difficult moments of the fight to accomplish their revolutionary ideals. At their husbands side, as devoted mothers, wives and daughters but also as firm patriots, Golescu women represented outstanding figures of this revolutionary process.
