Pietre preţioase şi semipreţioase de la Porolissum

  • Subiect: Precious and Semiprecious Stones from Porolissum The author analyzed 92 ancient precious and semiprecious stones (intaglios and non-carved stones) and other materials used for adorning rings. They are kept in the Museum for History and Art in Zalău. 87 of them were discovered at Porolissum (Moigrad; Sălaj County) and 5 in the Roman fort at Buciumi. Out of this number three copies are precious stones (beryls), 81 are semi1pre1'1011s stones (33 fire opals, 17 cornelians, 5 white opals,11 lydits, 1 heliotrope, 1 chrysopraze, 2 onyxes, 3 jaspers, 1 pink quartz, 1 amethyst, 1 magnetite), a small ivory plate, a ceramic pearl and 4 pearls of cobalt glass.
