  • Subiect: The General Assembly of the Astra in Şimleu Silvaniei (4-5 August 1878) The paper deals with the general yearly assembly of ASTRA (The Transylvanian association for Romanian literature and the culture of the Romanian people) kept in Şirnleul Silvaniei in August 4th-5th 1878. Archive documents and Romanian periodicals of that time are used for information. Aspects connected with the preparation of the Assembly, the reception of the officials and of the members of the ASTRA, the meeting and the celebrations are discussed. The Assembly was an important event in the life of the Sălaj department of ASTRA.
