Subiect: Geomorphological and pedological analyses are part of the archaeological research. They provide additional
information on both the current natural environment and on its evolution. From this point of view,
soil analysis is important, because soil is a dynamic archive in which the evolution of all natural factors (geological,
geomorphological, biotic, climatic) can be identified, as well as anthropogenic intervention. The
prehistoric site Păuleni-Ciuc – Dâmbul Cetăţii (Harghita County), located above one of the largest mountain
depression areas in our country – Ciuc Depression – was the subject of a classic pedological research.
