Subiect: The studied icon comes from the church „Holy Ghost Descent", a historical
monument dating from the second half of the 1 ]1h century. This church is from Dretea Village, Mănăstireni Commune, Cluj County. A new church was built and it was decided that the old one to be trasferred into the outdoor museum in Dumbrava Sibiului. The Ministry of Culture and Cults approved the restoration project of the church. The interior painting and the icons of the church
were restored As Marius Porumb himself assserted in the „Dictionary of Transylvanian old painting of 13th -18th centuries ", in the wooden churches there were icons dated on the end of the 18th century. This tact was also noticedd by the restoration team. One of the icons hin the church, „Ascension of Christ", painted in rustic style entered the restoration laboratory within the „ASTRA" National Complex of Museums, in order to receive the proper restoration treatment for a piece of patrimony. The represented scene is the „Sky ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ", even if the written inscription in Slavonic language on the icon is translated as follows: „Bring to us the Holy Ghost descent or The Holy Ghost Arrival".
After the restoration of the piece, I recommended a storage or exposition
environment with a relative humidity between 55 and 65% and a temperature of 18-20° C, without ample or sudden fluctuations of these values. ln the case the piece is exposed, I recommend that the level of lighting should
not exceed 180 lucks, and the light source should be directed so that the radiation of the light would not fall directly on the surface of the painting.
