Organizarea construcţiei şi problema forţei de muncă la Canalul Dunăre-Marea Neagră

  • Subiect: „The idea of a shorter sea route to the Black Sea, was an old goal. The first ideas and projects of a navigable canal, to shorten the way to 400 km, date to the XIXth century. At Stalin's order, in 1949, the new leader Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej, started work to Danube-Black Sea Canal, who ended abruptly in 1953 as a failure. In 1973 into a new politica} framework and under a new leader, Nicolae Ceauşescu, the construction of Danube-Black Sea Canal was resumed. The construction of thc Danube-Black Sea hydroelectric and transport complex involved a large number of workers, designers, technidans and engineers. The extent of works required the army's intervention who participated with special units to carry out the work undertaken. Young people alsa participated to the Canal works. On national youth sites they meant to educate in the communist spirit.”
