Prezervarea patrimoniului etnografic în contextul: identitate culturală vs globalizare. Premise teoretice. Studiu de caz.

  • Subiect: Humanity is in a state of crisis today. ln this extreme situation one may think that saving, conservating and preserving the cultural patrimony, together with the natural patrimony, is not only a marginal fact but also an useless one, because - first of all - humanity needs means of subsistence. But reality demonstrates the contrary fact, because now, when the problem of national identity is discussed, the phenomenon of knowing the cultural patrimony becomes part of our existence and its research becomes an imperative of the studies of cultural anthropology. The contemporary psychological climate which we refer to and which includes the politica! and social one, implies the much discussed unification of the European states into a continental super-unity. Economica!, social and politica! aspects are to be taken into consideration - possible consequences of this possible unification. This problem initiates a series of questions: can an interculturality which implies a reciproca! permeability with a view to fusing be achieved? ... to what extent are national cultures permeable enough in order to facilitate the interpenetration of foreign elements? ... doesn't the giving up of ultra-specificities risk to lead to an almost monotonous homogenization? The attempt of the philosophers of cultura, sociologists and ethnologists to give answers to these questions allows us to underline the fact that the theme of interculturality has in view a superstructure which is aware of its own identity, but not of that of the other cultures, thus defining itself as a new form specific to the beginning of the 21st century.
