O istorie a peisajului urban câmpulungean (secolele XIV-XVIII)

Subiect: A History of Câmpulung’s Townscape (the 14-th – 18-th Century) The environment had a great importance for the evolution of Câmpulung. The inhabitants of the oldest town of Wallachia have been trying along the centuries to model and subordinate the scenery according to their own needs. Thus the development of the community, the social and demographic changes, and the difficulties influenced the environment in different ways. In the present paper, the authors try to reconstitute the image of Câmpulung’s townscape between the 14th and 18th centuries, based upon the accounts of some foreign travelers and upon a local chronicle elaborated by a leader of the Catholic community from Câmpulung.
