  • Subiect: „This article is a completion of the numismatic chronicle which appears every year in the "Pontica" magasine which is bom from the wish of making known, by the interested people, more of the signifiant quantity of currency material found by The National Museum of History and Archaeology from Constan]a in the latest years. In the same time, it was desirable an utilisation of the biggest part from the ex-private collections, the introduced ones, in time, in The Numismatic Collection of the same museum, be it donations or aquisitions. Along with all these, pieces belonging to private collections are published, this way a valuable material being saved for the right assessment of different aspects about the economic and commecial history, on historical periods of the Dobroudgea territory. From the published catalogue we have to do several underlinings. The times when these currencies appeared integrate between the III•d century before Chr. ant the v•h century after Chr. Those that are rated are well known in the currency's zone circulation. There must be pointed out four Roman Republican Denars dated in the Ilnd - I'' century before Chr. to which w e way add the most interesting issue. Th semis belonging to the Anonymous type, dated post 211 before Chr. with no exact localization. Conceming the rare pieces in the isolated discoveries in Dobroudgea there must be enumerated those made by Augustus (emitted in Rome, dated 2-11 after Chr., respective, 22 after Chr.), Crispina, with an ace discovered at Sipote (emitted at Rome between 180-183 after Chr.) and Procopius found at Harsova (emitted at Constantinopole between 365-366 after Chr.) As an alternative to number 584 from BMC V, the denar from Geta discovered at Mangalia is noticed, here being PONTIF COS II (emitted at 209 after Chr.) and as an imitation, the piece from Maximinus, discovered at Dunareni, according to numner 58-59 from BMC VI, having on the reverse FIDIS MIL I TVM, dated 236(?). We also underline the rare presence in isolated currency discoveries from Dobroudgea the existance of same workshops like: Sirmium, Serdica, Ticinum, Triveri and Aquileia. As a conclusion we consider that the 424 currencies are relevant for the completion of the information that complete for the achivement of an image as close as possible to the extant reality in the Danubiano-Pontique space, for the antique period.”
