Restaurarea unui cojoc săsesc datat 1912

  • Subiect: A Saxon fur coat, dated in 1912, having the S.C. initials and being processed in a traditional expression from sheep and other skin, genuine silk, metallic thread. Conservation: the item was dirty, with an old aspect; it was torn, dehydrated, with damaged embroidery and loss of material. Restoration: the cleaning of the skin has been made with white sprite; the fur has been cleaned with a mixture of petrol and tak. Over the missing parts, there have been applied fragments of skin taken from sheared sheep. The fragments have been scraped to become thinner. Then they have heen sewn. The completing of the missing embroidery has been made by using thread of genuine silk, on the basis of the original prick traces. The ornaments of the collar have heen replaced with other fur, (by means of sewing). As an adhesive, it has heen used bone glue. For protection the item it has been made a cover.
