Biserica din Soconzel - monument al arhitecturii populare din nord-vestul României

  • Subiect: The wooden churches are the creation of the folk tradition and this is easy to noted when we talk about the church from Soconzel. The first aspect that we should notice is that the wooden churches use the same building material as the peasent houses – the wood, and the second aspect is that the wooden churches and the peasant houses have some points of convergence. The wooden church from Soconzel is one of the few monuments of this tipe from Satu Mare county. The church was built in XVIIIth century but there is nothing to certify the exact date of the construction. Like other churches from the same area the church from Soconzel was built from wooden beams joined horizontal. The church is painted only on the inside. The mural painting covers the walls of the church but it is in a very degraded state. The church dimensions are: 6,14 m X 13,87 m. The church from Soconzel next to the churches from Stâna, Lelei, Lechinta, Corund and Bolda is a very important monument from the point of view of the folk art and the history of architecture.
