  • TITLU în română: Radiografia, restaurarea şi replicarea unor săbii
  • Subiect: RADIOGRAPHY, RESTORATION AND REPLICATION OF SOME SWORDS Wilhelm Conrad Răntgen discovered in 1895 the X-rays, rays which bear his name. The information about the usage of X-rays in the museums' investigations leads us to the year 1930. In Hungary, according to our research, the first to use this technique was the teacher Hegyi Zoltan from Debrecen, around 1938. This technique was improved in 1952, the restorer Kakay Szabo Gyăngy from the Art Museum of Budapest received a roentgen device and specialised in the analyses of the paintings, being the student of the famous art restorer Helmut Ruhenman from Kaiser Friedrich Museum of Berlin. There are precise data regarding the concerns of Kor6di Jozsef from Cluj, who, with the help of a roentgen device and a Zeiss spectophotograph, which he got in 1977 had serious investigations on the pieces resulted from archaeological diggings. His work was continued by Imecs Mârtan who, in 1988, in 'Museums and Monuments' Magazine' published the article “The examination of some Egyptian mummies using RX technique”.
