Începuturile cercetărilor arheologice în Argeş şi Muscel (sec. XVII-XIX)

  • Subiect: The Beginning of the Archaeological Researches in Argeş and Muscel (The 17th - The 19th Centuries) The paper presents in brief the oldest archaeological researches in Argeş and Muscel, from the ones performed by the Italian count Luigi Ferdinando de Marsigli at the Roman Camp from Câmpulung-"Jidova" (the end of the 17th century) to the studies based upon the limes transalutanus issue performed by Grigore Tocilescu and Pamfil Polonic (at the border of the 19th and the 20th centuries). In the paper the following features are highlighted: the interest for the archaeological monuments from Argeş and Muscel of all the pioneers of the archaeology from the Romanian area, both Romanian (Cezar Bolliac, Alexandru Odobescu, Dimitrie Pappazoglu, Dimitrie Butculescu, Grigore Tocilescu, Pamfil Polonic) or foreigners (de Marsigli, Carl Schuchhardt).
