- Subiect: The immigration of the Ruthenians was a long process with special implications on the historical evolution of the region of Maramureş. The Ruthenians were settled down as dependent peasants, both on the estates belonging to Romanian noblemen (e.g. the Noblemen of Dolha, Bilke, Dragfy) and Hungarian noblemen (e.g. Pogany, Kun of Rozsaly). In XV-XVI th century the Ruthenians founded 36 villages and they were settled down in another 31 villages, initially inhabited by Romanian population and over time inhabited by Ruthenians population.
